This is a responsible position involving conducting investigations and interviews to substantiate facts for cases being prepared by the office of the District Attorney. Employees of this class work in accordance with established practices and procedures, are required to be on call 24 hours a day, and may work weeknights and weekends. The work is performed under general supervision from a higher level employee. Supervision of others is not a responsibility of this class. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications Set by the District Attorney's Office are:
(A) Six (6) years of paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as a police officer that involves specialized investigative experience including such physical crimes as rape, robbery, homicide, arson, assault, burglary, etc.; OR,
(B) Six (6) years of paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as a police officer at the Sergeant level or higher; OR,
(C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
Special Requirements:
• Possession of a Police Officer Training Certificate issued by the New York State Bureau for Municipal Police Training Council at the time of appointment.
• Must be a United States Citizen at the time of appointment.
Salary:
$41,770 - $52,974 annually
