Mr. DeMarco has more than 30 years of experience in new roadway and bridge construction inspection. He has overseen and inspected bridge deck repair and rehabilitation, roadway repair, and resurfacing, and overseen project office plans for construction projects with the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT).

BRIDGES
69th Street Grade Separation Project - NJ Transit - Chief Roadway Inspector
Presently conducting on-site inspection of roadway work consisting of moving of utilities, installing sheeting along the Hackensack River Tributary, installing a Concrete Box Culvert, and other pertinent work prior to constructing a bridge structure over the CSX Railroad on 69th Street in North Bergen, NJ which will consist of inspecting the construction of caissons, abutments, retaining walls, MSE walls, concrete columns, bridge steel, beams and structural, etc. Also documenting the contractor's work by their means and methods while maintaining the contract plans and specifications for the job. NJDOT Route 195 Bridge Painting - Roadway Inspector
Conducted on-site inspections of the painting of nine bridges on Route 195. This New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) project consisted of blasting and cleaning the structural steel and metal surfaces of the bridges, then repainting the steel and metal surfaces with an epoxy coating. Mr. DeMarco also documented the contractor’s means and methods for cleaning and painting. (2005)
NJDOT Bridge Scour Countermeasures - Inspector/ Office Engineer
Performed the on-site inspection of scour countermeasures on five bridges in Denville, Hanover, Colts Neck, and Wall townships in Morris and Monmouth Counties, NJ. Mr. DeMarco also documented the contractor’s means and methods for the installation of gabion scour protection and erosion control for this New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) project. NJDOT Route 195 Bridge Painting - Roadway Inspector
Performed the on-site inspection for the painting of 10 bridges on Route 195. The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) project consisted of blasting and cleaning the structural steel and metal surfaces, then repainting the steel and metal surfaces using an epoxy coating. Mr. DeMarco also documented the contractor’s means and methods. (2004)
NJDOT Bridge Painting on Routes 1, 9, and 18 - Roadway Inspector
Conducted on-site inspections of a New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) bridge painting project on Routes 1, 9, and 18, which involved 10 bridges. This project consisted of blasting and cleaning the bridges’ structural steel and metal surfaces and repainting the surfaces with an epoxy coating. Mr. DeMarco also documented the contractor's means and methods for cleaning and painting, equal employment opportunity (EEO), and payrolls from the contractor, and kept records of as-built plans. NJDOT Clove Road Bridge Deck Replacement - Roadway Inspector/ Office Engineer
Made an on-site inspection of Clove Road Bridge deck replacement, which consisted of two bridge decks over the Clove Brook in Sussex County, NJ. The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) project involved building a temporary road with a temporary bridge alongside each culvert and the demolition of the old bridge. It also included the installation of new concrete culvert box forms using steel and concrete and the construction of the new deck surface, roadway excavation, grading, drainage, landscaping, and paving. NJDOT County Route 517 Railroad Bridge - Roadway Inspector/Office Engineer
Completed on-site inspections of a new railroad bridge over County Route 517 in the Township of Sparta, NJ. The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) project involved building a temporary bridge, excavating the roadway site for the bridge, installing piles driven into the ground and blasting rock to allow for the footings to be placed, drainage, electrical conduits, concrete forms for the bridge abutments, and the installation of steel beams. Mr. DeMarco inspected the bridge deck with concrete pours of the deck slab, steel placement and approach slabs, paving, demolition of the temporary bridge, landscaping, and final cleanup. HIGHWAYS/ROADWAYS
NJDOT I-80 WB Resurfacing - Roadway Inspector/Office Engineer
Oversaw contract adherence on resurfacing and construction Interstate 80 westbound (WB) through Warren, Sussex, and Morris Counties, NJ. Mr. DeMarco reviewed contract documents for the 2.5-inch milling and resurfacing with 4.5 inches of hot mix asphalt (HMA). The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) project also included curb and guiderail upgrades. Mr. DeMarco was also responsible for maintenance and protection of traffic (MPT) and adherence to allowable lane closures hours. (2008 - 2009)
NJDOT Routes 1 and 9, 7, 9W - Roadway Inspector
Conducted on-site inspection and documentation of the contractor’s means and methods for repairs and resurfacing on the several state roads under a contract with the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT). The resurfacing project included reconstruction of inlets, cleaning existing structures and pipe, milling and paving of hot mix asphalt (HMA) material, joint repair, striping, installation of detection system cameras, and landscaping. NJDOT Maintenance Repair Lawrenceville - Roadway Inspector/Office Engineer
Conducted on-site inspection and documentation of the contractor’s means and methods for milling, line striping, traffic control, reset heads, concrete curbs, surface preparation, and hot mix asphalt (HMA) application. The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) project included resurfacing 3.5 miles of NJ 206 in Mercer County, NJ as well as rehabilitation of the existing concrete and asphalt roadway. Other duties included replacement and realignment of curb, concrete sidewalks and driveways, asphalt driveways, resetting of castings, milling of asphalt and resurfacing with HMA. (2007 - 2008)
Monmouth County Route 33 Resurfacing - Roadway Inspector/Office Engineer
Inspected the resurfacing of Route 33 in Manalapan Township, NJ. The project included curb replacement, resetting inlets, milling, and new hot mix asphalt (HMA). Mr. DeMarco confirmed that the contractor complied with the contract documents regarding specifications, hours, and traffic control. (2007)
NJDOT Ocean County Resurfacing - Roadway Inspector/ Office Engineer
Conducted inspection of a $3 million fast-track resurfacing project for two miles of Route 70 eastbound and westbound from west of Center Street to west of CR 571, from milepost 44.3 to milepost 46.7 in Ocean County, NJ. The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) project included replacement of curb; bridge deck patching, sealing, and resurfacing; resetting of castings; milling of asphalt; and resurfacing with hot mix asphalt (HMA).
