Manufacturing Engineer (Contract)—Responsible for initiating and completing change notices, writing and editing procedures and documents. Worked with suppliers on corrective actions for incoming quality issues.
Burpee Materials Technology: August 2013 to August 2014
Manufacturing Engineer—Worked with both the development and production teams to improve the manufacturing process and throughput of medical stent delivery systems. Validated and wrote protocols for new processes and equipment. Performed CAPA’s and root cause analyses to resolve production issues. Worked on a Lean manufacturing team to move production from batch to one-piece flow manufacturing, reducing labor and increasing throughput.
Gentex Corporation: May 2011 to August 2013
Production Support Engineer—Managed a production team of 6 employees on an interior electrochromic glass line, who were responsible for cutting and inspecting glass for quality defects. Responsible for daily startup and shutdown of production, audits, and end of shift performance reports. Worked with the production workers, maintenance, and technicians on projects to increase quality and throughput, decrease downtime and scrap, with a focus on continuous improvement. Led a team of 5 Production Support Engineers on a project reducing the number of vacuum trays used by 50%, saving the company $100,000 in 2013.
Louis Padnos Iron and Metal Company: July 2010 to August 2010
Facilities Intern—Assisted with the annual audit of all Padnos’ recycling yards. Traveled to each yard to obtain information on HVAC units, backflow preventers, gas meters and electric meters. Added information gathered from scrapyards to the CAD layout of each yard.
