Work for Equal Pay Pledge Companies New York Jobs

These Companies Support Equal Pay for Women

Equal pay for equal work has been the law of the land since 1963, but too many Americans are paid less for the same labor as their male colleagues. These companies are leading the way to a more equitable future.

While executive and legislative action can do much to drive cultural change, lasting progress is only achieved through a balance of government, private sector, and individual efforts. In June of 2016, the White House invited leading companies to make a public commitment to equal pay for all Americans, regardless of gender.

By August, fifty-nine of America’s strongest employers signed the Equal Pay Pledge, promising to review their compensation, hiring, and promotion processes to ensure fair pay and equal opportunity for their employees.

If you’re a talented, hard-working American woman – or value the fair and equal treatment of your colleagues – we encourage you to consider these companies while planning the next stage of your career.

  • GoDaddy
  • Dropbox
  • JohnsonAndJohnson

What motivated Patagonia to sign the Equal Pay Pledge?

Patagonia has and will continue to value our working women with equal pay and opportunity. We are in full support of the White House Equal Pay Pledge because we believe that there is much to be done to improve the true drivers of pay equality – such as paid maternity and paternity leave, quality on-site childcare, and a family-supportive work environment – which allow working Moms and Dads to continue to grow their family, career and income with equal opportunity.

What is the best way to stand out at Patagonia?

We sit up and take notice when we read about any unusual combination of interests and experience that reflects a strong spirit, a curious mind, the ability to work hard in a community atmosphere—and a bold move or two, something unexpected. A love of the outdoors and the value of wilderness, deep knowledge of our products and a desire to change business so that it better serves the planet and society: We look for those qualities too and pay heed when we see them. People who are passionate about things outside of themselves.

You don’t by any means have to be a hard core athlete [although it is nice], but you do have to have a purpose outside of making money and climbing a corporate ladder. We’re especially interested if you share our love of the outdoors, our passion for quality and our desire to make a difference. We look for candidates who are already living our four core values: Integrity, Environmentalism, Quality, and Not Bound by Convention.

What kind of positions are currently available?

We’re always looking for motivated people to join us in our retail stores; at our Ventura, California headquarters; Reno, Nevada Service Center; and occasionally in our overseas offices. It is a really exciting time to join our company, the more we grow, the more we can use business for good. All departments will be looking for some sort of support in the coming years to help scale our business for the next generation. Hiring people with diverse backgrounds brings in flexibility of thought and openness to new ways of doing things, which will be important as we continue to build our Patagonia community.

What motivated the Libra Group to sign the Equal Pay Pledge?

As an employer we are age, sex, orientation, race and religion blind. As such, we take care to ensure that we apply wage equality throughout the organization. Libra believes that narrowing pay gaps across economies depends on two things: a culture of equal opportunity and equal treatment within the work environment, combined with selective positive action and intervention to lift people out of endemic disadvantage and give them the chance they deserve. We will not only continue to preserve wage equality between genders, but we will sustain the existing diversity to ensure that our group leads by example with equality at all levels.

Libra is happy to partner with the White House on an initiative intended to encourage participation from other organizations and to raise awareness on the issue of unequal pay, not only here in the U.S, but also in the global community given the international reach of our group.

In our experience, no matter what the role, communication skills are paramount. With that in mind at the Libra Group we always look for the right character and personality. People who are hungry to create value through their work, who take responsibility and are decent to others. People who “keep their eyes on the stars and their feet on the ground”.

What kind of positions are currently available?

At this stage, among other senior roles are Libra, we are looking for a Head of Innovation to support the group and its subsidiaries in harnessing the power of technology and innovation as we prepare our organization for the future.
